SFC can be considered as another form of liquid and gas chromatography using carbon dioxide as a mobile phase.

PIC-Lab Analytical SFC system is a powerful tool for automated method development and routine analysis/QC/profiling of crude reaction mixtures, purification fractions, natural products extracts and final products. The system is offered with 10 or 20 columns running in parallel for faster analysis.

The PIC-Lab Analytical SFC models are versatile and fully automated analytical systems for routine analysis, profiling, method development and quality control of chiral and achiral small molecules, peptides, hemp and other natural products.

The PIC-Lab Analytical SFC 10 is designed for 10 columns as standard. With the PIC-Lab Analytical SFC 10 NT, 2 columns can be run in parallel, allowing for a set of 20 analytical columns.

The PIC-Lab Hybrid SFC is a “one device for multiple applications” system

The PIC-Lab Hybrid SFC models are designed for users who want to perform method development, preparative separations, and fraction analyses on a single system.

The compact PIC-Lab Hybrid SFC find application in the chiral and achiral separation of small molecules, peptides, hemp and other natural products.

The PIC-Lab Hybrid SFC 20, 10-100, and 10-150 are designed for micro-scale separations, milligram to gram scale, with flow rates from 20 to 150 mL/min, and are ideal for columns with inner diameters of 10 mm, 20 mm, and 30 mm.

The PIC-Lab Hybrid SFC series is also available as an open bed system.

PIC-Lab PREP 100 SFC-MS HT is a new generation of instruments, the “open bed collection system” It enables routine mass and UV triggered purification of small molecules, peptides and natural products important in drug discovery.

The instrument is designed for automated mg to multi-gram separations of chiral and achiral single molecules or libraries.

The configuration of the PIC-Lab PREP 100 SFC-MS HT is designed to allow automated analytical method development and automated analysis of collection fractions.

In the configuration where the open bed module is removed, the PIC-Lab PREP 100 SFC processes separations one substance at a time.

Key features

  • – Proprietary GLS technology ensures accurate and clean collection, allowing fraction tubes to fill up to 95% of capacity and supporting CO2 recycling at a maximum flow rate of 100 ml/min.
  • – Separate injection and collection: For optimal speed and reliability, the injection system is separate from the collection module. Both the injection and collection modules have a flexible layout that accepts 96-well plate footprints or racks to suit your needs.
  • – Stacked and non-stacked injections: Non-stacked injections are ideal for library purification. Stacked injections can be performed with the injection robot to enable rapid singleton separation. Alternatively, stacked injections are possible with the collection robot when automated separation of half a dozen or more chiral/achiral compounds is required, each requiring multiple injections.
  • – All system operations are controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC), which ensures high reliability and robustness. User interface to the instrument for sequence programming, fraction tracking and data visualisation is via the user-friendly proprietary software PIC Solution.

The PIC-Lab SUPER SFC series is suitable for large scale purification of enantiomers and complex mixtures of small molecules, peptides, hemp extracts and other natural products. For larger scale purification, efficient and sustainable supercritical CO2 liquid chromatography (SFC) drastically reduces operating costs as it is faster, CO2 recyclable, uses less energy and much less solvent compared to HPLC.

The fully automated systems are equipped with standard detectors and a co-solvent pump to enable isocratic or gradient methods. Configurations with a single quad mass spectrometer are also available on request.
